Watercolor is magical. I am one hundred percent certain that watercolor was invented by a water goddess.

Michelle lives near the American River, in Northern California, where she draws much of her inspiration. On any given day you may find her tending to her succulents, intently sketching a hairy critter, or water coloring an intricate pattern on a barnacled whale. Whimsical inky stuff makes Michelle smile. She prefers watercolor, but divides her time working in acrylic, as well. She particularly enjoys creating wild, surreal creatures and fictitious flora & fauna. Her goal in painting an object is simply to provide a sense of joy, peace, and quite often a dab of humor, with the hope of conjuring up an emotion or two of the viewer.

"I use both traditional and digital media, though I prefer getting my hands dirty. As a child I would plop wet paint onto wet paper and watch in utter amazement as it twirled about the page. I still hold that same sense of wonderment each time I pick up a brush."
